The cradle of civilisation, the Nile and the Red Sea

Egypt, from the pyramids to the banks of the Nile

In Egypt you stand before monuments more than 4,500 years old, then return in the evening to an Arab table and a familiar call to prayer.

The destination

About Egypt

Egypt is one of the oldest travel destinations in the world, and one of the closest to Saudi Arabia: about two hours on a direct flight from Jeddah, one language, and a cuisine close to Gulf taste. More than 5,000 years of recorded history meet a varied landscape that runs from the Nile Valley to the desert oases and the shores of the Red Sea and the Mediterranean.

In Cairo and Giza you stand before the pyramids and the Sphinx, visit the Grand Egyptian Museum, fully opened in November 2025, then walk through historic Cairo between Al-Azhar, Al-Muizz Street and Khan el-Khalili. In Upper Egypt, Luxor and Aswan hold what is often called the largest open-air museum in the world: Karnak, the Valley of the Kings, Philae and Abu Simbel, with the Nile between them, crossed by felucca or on a luxury cruise from temple to temple.

On the Red Sea, Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada offer fine resorts and some of the best coral reefs anywhere, while Dahab and Siwa give calm and untouched nature: Dahab with its turquoise water and the Sinai mountains behind it, Siwa with its palm groves, springs and salt lakes among the dunes. Alexandria, the bride of the Mediterranean, adds its modern library, the Citadel of Qaitbay and the royal palaces by the sea.

We arrange your Egypt journey the way you want it: historic hotels facing the pyramids or the Nile, Arabic-speaking Egyptologist guides, private cars, domestic flights between Cairo and Upper Egypt, and visiting hours planned around the midday heat, prayer times and the family's pace.

Questions

Before you go

Do Saudi citizens need a visa for Egypt?
Saudi citizens receive an entry visa on arrival at Egyptian airports, for a fee paid at the airport, with a passport valid for at least six months. For residents of Saudi Arabia the conditions depend on nationality and residence type, and we check them with you before booking.
When is the best time to visit Egypt?
October to April for Cairo, Luxor and Aswan, when the weather is mild. The Red Sea suits every season, Alexandria and the North Coast the summer. In summer we plan Upper Egypt visits for the early morning.
Is the food halal?
Yes, food is halal across Egypt, in local restaurants and in hotels. On Nile cruises and in international resorts any special meal arrangement can be requested.
Is it easy to pray during the trip?
Yes: mosques are everywhere, the call to prayer is heard in every town, and many sites and hotels have prayer rooms. We plan visits around prayer times and, if you wish, a Friday in one of the historic mosques.
How do we travel between cities?
Between Cairo and Luxor or Aswan a domestic flight takes about an hour; between Luxor and Aswan, a cruise or a car. In each city a private car with driver, and an Arabic-speaking guide for the visits.
Is Egypt safe for families?
The main tourist areas are well protected and receive millions of visitors every year. We advise following your guide, using the licensed transport we arrange, and checking official travel advice before you leave.
What currency is used, and are cards accepted?
The currency is the Egyptian pound. Cards are accepted in hotels, larger restaurants and shops; carry a little cash for markets and tips. Exchange is available at the airport and in banks.
What should we wear?
Modest, comfortable clothes in towns and at sites, and a headscarf for women entering mosques. Light cotton, a hat and sunglasses for the open sites, and a light jacket for winter evenings and the desert.
