The west bank and the Valley of the Kings
Half a day
Early morning, October to April
The Valley of the Kings holds more than 60 tombs cut into the Theban hills; a standard ticket opens three of them, and tombs such as Tutankhamun's and Seti I's need special tickets. You then visit Queen Hatshepsut's terraced temple at Deir el-Bahari and stop at the Colossi of Memnon on the way back.
Good to know
- Photography inside the tombs needs a photo ticket
- Some tombs need extra tickets
- The valley is hot and exposed at midday
