Discover Brno
Brno is the capital of Moravia and Czechia's second largest city, a university city with a young energy and deep history. On its hill stands the 13th-century Špilberk Castle, looking over the old town and the Cathedral of St Peter and Paul.
Brno also has the Villa Tugendhat, Mies van der Rohe's modernist masterpiece of 1930, on the UNESCO list since 2001 and visited by advance booking. The city is also home to the first mosque built in Czechia.
Brno is about two and a half hours from Prague by train or car and about an hour and a half from Vienna, so it makes a good stop between the two.
