Discover Malmö
Malmö is Sweden's third city, in the far south facing Copenhagen. Since 2000 the Øresund Bridge and tunnel have linked the two, and the train between them takes about 35 minutes, which makes it easy to combine Sweden and Denmark in one journey.
Its landmark is the Turning Torso, designed by Santiago Calatrava and completed in 2005: 190 metres tall, its floors turning gradually around its core. Around it, the Western Harbour has a seafront promenade and beaches.
The old town has quiet squares and parks, the 16th-century Malmö Castle and the Slottsparken gardens. Malmö is a multicultural city where halal restaurants are easy to find.
