Bohemian Switzerland National Park lies in northern Czechia on the border with Saxony, and is known for its sandstone formations and green valleys made for walking. Its best-known sight is the Pravčická brána, the largest natural sandstone arch in Europe.
In the Kamenice valley near the village of Hřensko, flat boats glide between high rock walls through the Edmund Gorge, an easy outing for a family. Part of the park was damaged by a large fire in 2022, so we check the state of the trails before each trip.
The park is about an hour and forty minutes from Prague by car, a good full-day trip, or combined with nearby Dresden in Germany.
