Discover Borjomi
Borjomi is central Georgia's best-known spa town, set in a narrow forested valley on the Mtkvari river about 160 km from Tbilisi. It is the source of Borjomi mineral water, known across the region.
In the town's Central Park, visitors drink straight from the springs under a glass canopy, walk along the river among the trees, and ride a cable car up to a plateau above the valley. On the edge of town stands Likani Palace, built for the Romanov family in the late 19th century.
Around the town lies Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park, founded in 1995, which with the Borjomi reserve covers more than 850 km² of forest and meadow, with trails that suit families.
Borjomi is a quiet stop for two nights, and a natural break on the road between Tbilisi and Batumi. It is best from May to October.
