Discover Selangor
Selangor surrounds Kuala Lumpur on every side, so its sights are less than an hour from your hotel. Families know it for Sunway Lagoon in Sunway City, opened in 1993 on 36 hectares, with more than 90 attractions including a large water park.
In Shah Alam, the state capital, stands the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Mosque, known as the Blue Mosque. Completed in 1988, it holds 24,000 worshippers, and four minarets of 142 metres rise around its blue dome.
Selangor is also home to the limestone Batu Caves, 13 km from central Kuala Lumpur and a usual stop on the way up to Genting Highlands. We suggest a full day in Selangor with children.
