Discover Český Krumlov
Český Krumlov is a historic town in South Bohemia, on the UNESCO list since 1992. The Vltava wraps around it in a double bend, and above it stands a grand castle on the rocks, the second largest in Czechia after Prague Castle, with its painted tower and an original Baroque theatre.
The old town's lanes are narrow and cobbled, lined with Renaissance houses with painted facades. The castle gardens look over the red rooftops, and in summer rafts and canoes pass beneath the bridges.
It is about three hours from Prague by car, so we suggest staying a night, or combining it with Vienna or Salzburg in one journey.
