Discover Amalfi Coast and Positano
The Amalfi Coast and Positano are coloured towns cut into the mountains above the Mediterranean, made for slow days. The coast became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997 for its terraced farms and towns built above the water.
Positano's houses step down to its beach, Amalfi combines its cathedral with narrow lanes, and Ravello looks down from above with the gardens of Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone. The coast is best seen from the sea: on a private boat between the coves, or on a day out to Capri and the Faraglioni rocks.
The season runs from April to October, and ferries are fewer in winter. The coast road is narrow and winding, so we arrange a private driver who knows it well. The ruins of Pompeii are a half-day trip from the coast.
