Questions

Visa questions, answered

What is a tourist visa?
A tourist visa is a travel permit a country grants to people who wish to visit it for a limited time for tourism, exploring or seeing family, with no intention to work or stay long term. Its conditions and procedures vary from country to country, and between citizens and residents, so it is best to know the requirements before planning your trip.
What do I need to get a tourist visa?
It depends on your destination, but usually: a valid passport, a hotel booking, a return ticket, medical insurance, and proof that you can cover the trip, such as a salary letter and bank statement. With ZHO you receive the document list for your destination, and we check your whole file before it is submitted.
Can I apply for a visa online?
Yes, for many countries: Saudi citizens obtain the UK Electronic Travel Authorisation online, residents of Saudi Arabia can apply online for Japan's eVISA or the UAE e-visa, and Vietnam issues e-visas to every nationality. Schengen, US and Canadian visas, however, need an in-person visit for fingerprints or an interview. With ZHO, your application is prepared carefully so no error delays it.
How long does a tourist visa take?
It varies by country: from 1 or 2 working days for e-visas to days or weeks for visas that need fingerprints or an interview, and longer in summer and the holidays. To avoid delays, start early with the ZHO team.
Do some countries give visas on arrival or need none at all?
Yes. Saudi citizens enter the other GCC states without a visa, China visa-free until 31 December 2026, and Russia visa-free since 11 May 2026. Other countries offer visas on arrival to certain nationalities, sometimes with fees or specific documents. These rules change often, and at ZHO we give you the latest position for each destination.
What does a file "ready for fingerprinting" mean?
It means we book your appointment and prepare and check every document beforehand: passport, photos in the right size, a properly stamped salary letter, bank statement, insurance, translations and bookings. You attend the visa centre only to give your fingerprints, with nothing missing.
Do you guarantee that my visa will be approved?
No. The decision belongs to the embassy or the issuing authority alone, and no one can guarantee it. What we guarantee is a complete and accurate file, an appointment booked on time, steady follow-up until your passport is back, and word from us at once if anything more is requested.
Does each family member need a separate application?
Yes. Each person, children and babies included, needs their own application and documents, and we add the family card or birth certificates to show the relationship. We book the family's appointments as close together as we can.
When should I start?
Start at least two months before travel for visas that need a fingerprint appointment or an interview, especially in summer and the holidays, and at least two weeks before for e-visas. First, make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months after your return date.
