Discover Interlaken
Interlaken is the holiday capital between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, and the main gateway to the Jungfraujoch, the Top of Europe. At its centre is the Höhematte, an open green meadow facing the Jungfrau.
From Interlaken Ost you reach Jungfraujoch in about 1 h 30 via Grindelwald and the Eiger Express gondola, to Europe's highest railway station at 3,454 metres. The Lauterbrunnen valley and its waterfalls, and the turquoise water of Lake Brienz, are minutes away.
The town is familiar to Gulf visitors, with restaurants serving halal food and shops for watches and gifts. You can take a boat on either lake, or the funicular up Harder Kulm to see the town and both lakes from above.
