Vienna

Vienna is the elegant imperial capital, home to classical music, grand palaces such as Schönbrunn and the Hofburg, and refined historic cafés. Its historic centre, and Schönbrunn Palace and its gardens, are on UNESCO's World Heritage List.

At its heart stands St Stephen's Cathedral with its patterned roof, with the Graben and Kärntner Strasse for shopping around it. The Hofburg holds the Spanish Riding School and its white horses, and across town the Prater's Giant Ferris Wheel has turned since 1897.

Vienna is easy with a family: a clean metro, large parks, many halal restaurants and the Islamic Centre in Floridsdorf. Saudia flies there direct from Riyadh and Jeddah.
