Discover The Black Forest and Baden-Baden
The Black Forest covers south-western Germany between the Rhine and the Swiss border, with dense pine forest, lakes, waterfalls and wooden villages. On its northern edge lies Baden-Baden, the spa town listed by UNESCO in 2021 among the Great Spa Towns of Europe.
In Baden-Baden the Lichtentaler Allee runs along the river Oos between gardens and historic villas. From here the Black Forest High Road heads towards Freudenstadt, past the Mummelsee. Further south are the Triberg Waterfalls, among the highest in Germany, and Lake Titisee with its electric boats.
Baden-Baden is about an hour and forty minutes by car from Frankfurt airport and about 45 minutes from Strasbourg in France. Summer and autumn are the finest seasons, and in winter snow covers the heights.
