The Black Forest High Road and the Triberg Waterfalls
A day by private car among the pines, lakes and waterfalls. From Baden-Baden into the heart of the Black Forest.

The experience
The Black Forest High Road is one of Germany's oldest scenic routes, running about 60 kilometres from Baden-Baden to Freudenstadt at close to 1,000 metres, through dense pine forest with viewpoints over the Rhine valley.
About halfway is the Mummelsee, a small mountain lake ringed by forest, which takes half an hour to walk around. The driver then continues south to Triberg, where the Triberg Waterfalls drop in seven steps between rocks and trees, among the highest falls in Germany, with a well-kept path climbing beside them.
In and around Triberg are shops selling wooden cuckoo clocks, the craft the Black Forest is known for, and a fine gift from the journey. To round off the day, Lake Titisee is about an hour further south, with its quiet electric boats.
We arrange a private driver who knows the road, and suggest a day from June to October. In winter the road usually stays open but is covered in snow.
