Khan el-Khalili
خان الخليلي
Khan el-Khalili was founded in 1382 by the emir Jarkas al-Khalili and is still a living market between Al-Azhar and the Mosque of Al-Hussein. It sells lanterns, hammered brass, mother-of-pearl, perfumes and spices, and its old cafés make a good stop in the late afternoon.
