Egypt
8 nights between Giza, Aswan and Luxor, with a luxury Nile cruise
We designed this journey to bring together the best of Egypt without hurry. It begins at the historic Mena House, whose rooms face the Great Pyramid, with the pyramids, the Grand Egyptian Museum and historic Cairo in the company of an Arabic-speaking specialist guide.
You then fly to Aswan for two nights in the historic Palace Wing of the Old Cataract above the Nile, visit Philae and Abu Simbel, and board a luxury Nile ship for three nights to Luxor by way of Kom Ombo and Edfu, seeing Karnak and the Valley of the Kings before the flight home.
Price on request, depending on dates, room category and the ship chosen. The journey can be extended with nights on the Red Sea or in Alexandria.
Day 1
Meet and greet at the airport and private transfer to Mena House in Giza. A free evening facing the Great Pyramid.
Day 2
The pyramids and the Sphinx as the site opens, then, after lunch, the Grand Egyptian Museum and the Tutankhamun galleries.
Day 3
The Citadel and the Mosque of Muhammad Ali, the Mosque of Sultan Hassan, then Al-Azhar, Al-Muizz Street and Khan el-Khalili.
Day 4
Flight to Aswan (about an hour and a half) and check-in at the Old Cataract. Philae in the afternoon, then a felucca at sunset.
Day 5
Dawn departure by private car to Abu Simbel (about 3.5 hours), back to the hotel in the afternoon for tea on the terrace above the Nile.
Day 6
Boarding the Nile ship in Aswan and sailing north between green banks, with a visit to the double temple of Kom Ombo above the river.
Day 7
The Temple of Horus at Edfu in the morning, then sailing through the Esna lock to reach Luxor in the evening.
Day 8
The Karnak temples in the morning, the Avenue of Sphinxes, and Luxor Temple lit in the evening. Night on board in Luxor.
Day 9
An optional sunrise balloon, then the Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut's temple, leaving the ship for Luxor airport and the flight home via Cairo.
