Ras Mohammed, Egypt's first protected area (1983), lies where the Gulfs of Suez and Aqaba meet, south of Sharm El Sheikh. The boat stops at coral walls that drop into the deep and at shallow snorkelling spots suitable for beginners and children with life jackets, and a private boat with crew and lunch on board can be arranged.
