The pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum in one day
You begin the morning before the Great Pyramid and the Sphinx, ahead of the crowds and the heat. The afternoon is spent in the Grand Egyptian Museum with a specialist guide.

The experience
The Great Pyramid of Khufu was built about 4,500 years ago, rose to about 146 metres, and remained the tallest structure made by man for nearly four thousand years. We arrive as the site opens, so you walk among the three pyramids and look across the plateau from the panorama point before going down to the Sphinx and the Valley Temple.
After lunch we drive about 2 km to the Grand Egyptian Museum, the largest museum in the world devoted to a single civilisation, fully opened in November 2025. The statue of Ramesses II greets you in the atrium, then the Grand Staircase lined with royal statues, then the Tutankhamun galleries, which show the treasures of his tomb together for the first time.
An Arabic-speaking Egyptologist guide and a private car stay with you all day. On request we arrange a ride on horseback or by camel on the plateau, or entry into the Great Pyramid itself with a special ticket, for those at ease in narrow passages.
Wear comfortable shoes and a hat and carry water: the plateau has no shade. The museum has restaurants, cafés, places to rest and a prayer room.
