The experience
Tivoli Gardens opened on 15 August 1843 and is today the world's second-oldest operating amusement park, after nearby Bakken. It sits in the heart of Copenhagen opposite the central station, with flower gardens, a lake, fountains and rides that range from gentle ones for small children to fast ones for adults.
Tivoli is more than rides: it has stages and open-air concerts, dozens of restaurants and cafés, and in the evening thousands of coloured lamps come on, making an evening walk there one of the best things to do in Copenhagen.
Tivoli opens in set seasons: summer from spring to September, then Halloween, and a winter season in November and December with markets and lights. We check the opening days for you before booking.
We arrange advance tickets and unlimited ride passes for children, and families who want the park a few steps away can stay at the Nimb Hotel inside the gardens.
