LEGOLAND and the LEGO House, Billund
The world's first LEGOLAND and the interactive LEGO House, in the town where the brick was born. Two days of play and building for children.
Billund · Denmark
The experience
LEGOLAND Billund opened in 1968 beside the LEGO factory as the world's first LEGOLAND. It has themed zones of adventure, pirates and knights, rides for young children, and Miniland, where cities and landmarks are rebuilt in miniature from millions of bricks.
In central Billund stands the LEGO House, opened in 2017, its front like giant stacked bricks. Inside, colourful zones let children build, program and make short brick films, and an exhibition tells the company's story from its first wooden toys.
We suggest two days: a full day at LEGOLAND and half a day at the LEGO House, staying at the Hotel LEGOLAND beside the park. LEGOLAND opens seasonally from spring to autumn, and we check its dates when we plan.
Billund Airport is minutes away, with flights from Copenhagen and major European airports, or a private car from Copenhagen takes about 2.5 to 3 hours.
