A canal tour from Nyhavn
About 1 hour
April to September
Nyhavn was dug in the 17th century to link the harbour to the heart of the city, and the merchants' and sailors' houses on its quay became Copenhagen's best-known view. Canal boats leave here for a tour of about an hour, passing Christiansborg, Christianshavn, the Opera House, Amalienborg and the Little Mermaid.
A private boat with an English-speaking guide can be arranged for your family; the best time is before sunset on summer evenings.
Good to know
- Boats are open: bring a jacket even in summer
- Some covered boats run in winter
