The Fjords of Norway: Oslo, Bergen and Geiranger

7 nights from the capital to the Flåm Railway and the UNESCO fjords

8 days · 7 nights Late May to mid-September Family travelHoneymoons

An easy-paced summer journey: two nights in Oslo, two in Bergen with a day on the Nærøyfjord and the Flåm Railway, and three in Geiranger among waterfalls and mountain roads.

We designed this journey to show the best of western Norway without exhausting travel days. It starts on Oslo's waterfront, then flies to Bergen, from where you spend a full day on the Nærøyfjord and the Flåm Railway. You then fly to Ålesund and drive privately to Geiranger for three nights, to see the fjord from the water and from the peaks.

You stay in chosen hotels on the water or facing the fjord, with private cars and drivers, and the cruises and trains booked in advance. We arrange halal meals in Oslo, and fish and vegetarian choices for the rest of the journey.

The price is on request and depends on the season, the number of travellers and the rooms. Nights in Tromsø or Lofoten can be added for the Arctic north.

Day by day

  1. Day 1

    Arrival in Oslo

Meet and greet at Oslo Gardermoen and a private transfer (about 45 minutes) to your hotel on the waterfront. A free evening to walk the harbour.

  2. Day 2

    Oslo on the water

A day with a driver: the Opera House roof, MUNCH and Akershus Fortress, then a ferry to Bygdøy and the Fram Museum. Halal lunch in the city.

  3. Day 3

    To Bergen

A short flight (about 50 minutes) to Bergen. In the afternoon, Bryggen and the fish market, then the Fløibanen up Mount Fløyen before sunset.

  4. Day 4

The Nærøyfjord and the Flåm Railway

A private car to Gudvangen (about 2 hours), a cruise on the Nærøyfjord to Flåm, the Flåm Railway up to Myrdal, and the Bergen Line back in the evening.

  5. Day 5

    To Geiranger

A flight to Ålesund, then a private car to Geiranger (about 3 hours) by a short ferry and the Eagle Road, stopping at the Eagle's Bend.

  6. Day 6

The fjord from the water and from above

A morning cruise beneath the Seven Sisters, then in the afternoon the Flydalsjuvet viewpoint and the Dalsnibba summit at about 1,500 metres.

  7. Day 7

    The Trollstigen road

A day with car and driver through the Valldal valley to the Trollstigen plateau and its viewing platforms, returning to Geiranger. If the road is closed we suggest an alternative nearby.

  8. Day 8
