The experience
We leave Cape Town in the morning, heading south over Chapman's Peak Drive, cut into the mountainside above the Atlantic with many bends and viewpoints, one of the world's great coastal roads.
We then enter the Cape of Good Hope reserve, part of Table Mountain National Park, ride the funicular or walk up to the Cape Point lighthouse, and stop at the Cape of Good Hope sign, Africa's south-western tip. You may see ostriches and antelope by the road.
On the way back we stop at Boulders Beach in Simon's Town, where a colony of African penguins lives among great boulders, viewed from boardwalks, before returning along the False Bay coast.
We arrange the day with a private car and guide, a halal lunch, and time for prayer.
