Bo-Kaap
2 to 3 hours
Mornings, all year
Bo-Kaap is a neighbourhood on the slopes of Signal Hill in Cape Town, with houses painted green, pink and yellow and cobbled lanes. It is the home of the Cape Muslims, descendants of people brought from South-East Asia from the 17th century, and of the Auwal Mosque, built in 1794, the oldest mosque in South Africa. The Bo-Kaap Museum and the halal restaurants introduce Cape Malay cooking.
