Oman: sea, mountain and the Land of Frankincense

8 nights in Muscat, Jebel Akhdar and Salalah

9 days · 8 nights October to April Family travelHoneymoons

Three nights on Muscat's beach, two on the canyon rim of Jebel Akhdar and three between beach and lagoon in Salalah, with a private car and a domestic flight.

A journey through Oman's three faces: the capital by the sea, the cool mountain and the green south. It begins at The Chedi on Muscat's beach, with the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, the Opera House and Mutrah Souq, and a day at Wadi Shab.

You then climb by way of Nizwa and its fort to Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar, about 2,000 metres up on the rim of a great canyon, to walk among the villages and terraces. Finally you fly to Salalah to stay at Al Baleed Resort beside the ancient city of Al Baleed, exploring the Land of Frankincense, Wadi Darbat and Mughsail.

It is at its best from October to April, when the north is mild, and can be adapted to the khareef with a shorter Muscat stay. Price on request.
