About Raffles Singapore
A historic hotel opened by the Sarkies brothers in 1887 and a national monument since 1987, with 115 high-ceilinged suites on verandas over its inner gardens and round-the-clock butler service.
Raffles opened in 1887 on Beach Road in the Civic District and was declared a national monument in 1987. After a two-year restoration it reopened in 2019 and now has 115 suites in its white colonial buildings, set around gardens and inner courtyards.
Every room is a suite, with ceilings up to 4 metres, ceiling fans, timber floors and marble bathrooms, and every guest is looked after by a Raffles butler around the clock. Families have a 90-square-metre heritage studio suite for four, and suites that connect.
The hotel is a short ride from the Sultan Mosque, Kampong Glam and Marina Bay. Its Tiffin Room serves North Indian cooking, and we ask the hotel to confirm halal options in advance.
