About Grand Hotel Yerevan
A historic hotel begun in 1926 on Abovyan Street near Republic Square, a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, with suites named after Armenian greats and an open-air pool in summer.
Hotel Yerevan was begun in 1926 on Abovyan Street to a design by Nikoghayos Buniatyan; it was then the city's tallest building and the centre of its social life. Today it is Grand Hotel Yerevan, a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, facing Charles Aznavour Square a few steps from Republic Square.
Its rooms blend classic and contemporary design, each with its own character in the historic building. Among its suites are several named after Armenian greats: the Charents suite, where the poet Yeghishe Charents lived from 1928 to 1935, the Aznavour Presidential Suite, which Charles Aznavour preferred on his visits, and the Kochar, Parajanov and Khachaturian suites.
The hotel is in the heart of the city, within walking distance of the Opera, the Cascade and the Vernissage market, and a few minutes by car from the Blue Mosque.
