The Glacier Express
A panoramic journey from Zermatt to St. Moritz in about 8 hours, over viaducts, through tunnels and across mountain passes.

The experience
The Glacier Express calls itself the slowest express train in the world: it crosses the Alps between Zermatt and St. Moritz in about 8 hours, made for looking rather than hurrying.
You sit in carriages with wide panoramic windows as the train follows the upper Rhine valleys, climbs the Oberalp Pass above 2,000 metres and crosses the famous stone Landwasser Viaduct before reaching the Engadine.
Lunch is served at your seat, and a vegetarian or fish meal can be ordered in advance. The Excellence Class offers a few seats and personal service.
Seats sell out in summer, so we book them early in your plan. You can also ride just part of the route if a full day on the train is too long.
