Prague Castle and Charles Bridge with a private guide
A day from the hilltop to the river: St Vitus Cathedral and Golden Lane, then down through Malá Strana to the bridge.
Prague · Czechia
The experience
The tour begins in the morning at Prague Castle, seat of the kings of Bohemia and then of the presidents, and one of the largest ancient castle complexes in the world. At its heart is the Gothic St Vitus Cathedral with its stained glass, then the Old Royal Palace with the vast Vladislav Hall, and Golden Lane with its tiny coloured houses.
Your guide then leads you down the old castle steps into the Baroque Malá Strana, with its gardens, palaces and the Church of St Nicholas, to Charles Bridge. Begun in 1357 under Charles IV, the bridge is lined with thirty statues and joins Malá Strana to the Old Town.
Cross it a second time in the evening or early morning, when the crowds thin and the whole view opens up. The tour ends in Old Town Square at the astronomical clock.
We arrange a private guide speaking Arabic or English, entry tickets and a car to take you up to the castle in the morning so you avoid the climb.
