Puri Saren Agung is a fine example of Balinese architecture, with carved gates and stone courtyards, and the family still lives there. In the evening its courtyard hosts traditional Balinese dance.

Opposite the palace is the Ubud art market, for woven baskets, carved wood and textiles. Bargaining is normal and expected.
