The Kraton of Yogyakarta
Keraton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat
The Kraton is a group of pavilions and open courtyards in the city centre, built in the 18th century; the sultan still lives in part of it. Its halls display the royal family's heirlooms, and gamelan music and Javanese dance are performed there in the mornings.
The water palace of Taman Sari and the batik workshop streets are close by, and we combine them in one morning tour.
