Juma Mosque of Shamakhi
Şamaxı Cümə Məscidi
The mosque was built under the Umayyads, when Maslama ibn Abd al-Malik made Shamakhi his residence, and is counted as the oldest in the Caucasus after the mosque of Derbent. Its domes and twin minarets, lit at night, make it a natural place to pray on the road between Baku and Gabala.
