Albania
7 nights from the capital to Berat, the Ionian and Butrint
We designed this journey to show the best of Albania from north to south without tiring days. It starts in Tirana, then heads south through Berat to the Riviera for a resort on the private beach at Palasë below the Llogara mountains, before following the coast road to Sarandë.
A private car and driver are with you throughout, with guides in Berat, Butrint and Gjirokastër and a private boat at Ksamil. We suggest restaurants and ask about halal at every stop, and choose the quietest beaches.
The price is on request and depends on the season, the rooms and the number of travellers. The best months are June and September.
Day 1
Met at the airport and driven to the Maritim Hotel Plaza in central Tirana, with an evening walk on Skanderbeg Square.
Day 2
The square, the Et'hem Bey Mosque and the New Bazaar, then the Dajti Ekspres cable car up the mountain in the afternoon.
Day 3
Two hours to Berat for the castle and Mangalem, then about three hours via Vlorë and the Llogara Pass to Palasë.
Day 4
A free day on the resort's private beach, by the pool or in the spa.
Day 5
A drive along the coast: Dhërmi village, the walk down to Gjipe cove and a fish lunch in Himarë, then back to Palasë.
Day 6
About an hour and a half along the coast road to Sarandë, Butrint with a guide in the afternoon and a private boat round the Ksamil islets.
Day 7
The Blue Eye spring in the morning, then Gjirokastër, its castle and old bazaar, and back to Sarandë.
Day 8
Private transfer to Tirana International Airport, about four and a half hours, for your flight home.
