The Macdonald family home on Loch na Dal

A luxurious family-run lodge in the south of Skye, run by the Macdonald family for five decades, with rooms over Loch na Dal and a kitchen recognised by the Michelin Guide.
Kinloch Lodge was a family home for centuries and became a hotel in the early 1970s under Lord Macdonald and his wife Claire; the family still runs it today. It stands on the Sleat peninsula in the south of Skye, on the shore of Loch na Dal, about half an hour from the Skye Bridge.
The lodge has about 18 rooms in two buildings, South Lodge and North Lodge, looking over the loch and the Sound of Sleat or the Kinloch hill. It has drawing rooms with log fires, a kitchen built on local, seasonal produce, and a treatment room for massages. It holds one MICHELIN Key.
