Hotel Astoria, St Petersburg

On St Isaac's Square since 1912

Historic palace

About Hotel Astoria, St Petersburg

St Petersburg's classic hotel since 1912, on St Isaac's Square, a few minutes' walk from the Hermitage and Nevsky Prospekt.

The Astoria opened in 1912 on Bolshaya Morskaya Street, on St Isaac's Square, facing the golden-domed cathedral and the Mariinsky Palace. It is run today by Rocco Forte Hotels, and the Hermitage, Palace Square and Nevsky Prospekt are a few minutes away on foot.

Rooms range from quiet Classic rooms on the inner courtyard to suites overlooking the cathedral or the Mariinsky Palace and the monument to Nicholas I. Families have Junior Suites for three, and the Royal Suite has two bedrooms and a terrace.

Its position makes it an ideal base for St Petersburg: walk to the Hermitage in the morning, climb the St Isaac's colonnade, and take the hydrofoil to Peterhof from a nearby pier.

Dining

At the table

The Astoria Restaurant offers fine dining in a friendly, cosmopolitan setting, and the Rotonda Lounge serves breakfast and afternoon tea with views of St Isaac's Cathedral. We suggest nearby halal restaurants for the evenings.

Wellness

Rest and renewal

The wellness centre has a Finnish sauna, a Turkish hammam and a thermal area, a gym open around the clock, and a House of Beauty Sisley for treatments and massage.
