The Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood has old houses of gypsum and coral topped with wind towers, small museums and quiet cafés. From the nearby abra station a traditional wooden boat takes you across the Creek in minutes to Deira, with the close-packed shops of the Gold Souk and the saffron and cardamom of the Spice Souk.
