The Mos Espa set was built near the Ong Jemel dunes for a Star Wars film in the late 1990s, and its domed earthen buildings still stand in the sand. Other locations from the series lie further south, such as the Hotel Sidi Driss in Matmata and Ksar Ouled Soltane in Tataouine.
