Visby's medieval wall
2 to 3 hours
June to August
Visby's wall was built in the 13th and 14th centuries and still stands for most of its length with its towers and gates. You can walk along it outside the town between gardens and sea, then enter the lanes to see medieval church ruins and merchants' houses. The best time is just before sunset, when the summer light softens on the stone.
