Start at Stortorget with its painted houses, then follow narrow lanes such as Mårten Trotzigs gränd, the city's narrowest street, to the Royal Palace, one of Europe's largest palaces with more than 600 rooms. You can visit the royal apartments and the Treasury and watch the changing of the guard in the outer courtyard.
