The Apartheid Museum, opened in 2001, begins with two entrances divided by skin colour, then tells in photographs and film the story of apartheid until its end in 1994. In Soweto, Nelson Mandela's house on Vilakazi Street is now a small museum, near the Hector Pieterson Memorial.
