The forests of Dilijan and Haghartsin
Full day
May to October, loveliest in autumn colour
In dense forest north-east of Dilijan stands Haghartsin Monastery, a group of churches of the tenth to thirteenth centuries among walnut and beech trees. From there we continue to little Lake Parz, with an easy path round the water and a café on its shore.
In the afternoon we return to town to walk old Sharambeyan Street, among stone houses and pottery and woodwork studios.
Good to know
- Comfortable shoes for forest paths
- Mountain weather changes quickly
