The Cascade is a vast stairway of white limestone climbing from central Yerevan up the hill, with gardens, fountains and modern sculpture, and escalators inside so you can go up with no effort. The top looks over the whole city, and on clear days to the snowy twin peaks of Mount Ararat.

The best time is just before sunset, followed by the cafés at its foot.
